The Whitby Taxpayers Federation is a community-driven, incorporated not-for-profit organization led entirely by volunteers who are committed to protecting the interests of local taxpayers. Founded in June 2025 and incorporated in March of 2026, the Federation was established to give residents a stronger, more organized voice on the financial decisions that shape our town.

Under the leadership of Jess Street, a long-time Whitby resident with a deep understanding of the community, the Federation brings together individuals who believe that responsible government begins with respect for the people who fund it.

Our Purpose

We exist to advocate for:

• Responsible spending that respects taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars

• Transparent decision-making at Town Hall

• Accountability from elected officials and municipal staff

• Efficient delivery of services without unnecessary financial burden

Why It Matters

Whitby is growing, and with growth comes increased pressure on infrastructure, services, and taxes. Residents deserve clear information, meaningful consultation, and confidence that their money is being managed wisely. The Whitby Taxpayers Federation works to ensure those expectations are met.
